Ismat ni Eid is a Turkish tale. A nice story about a shoemaker named Ismat, who is a happy going, family orientated man. On the occasion of Eid he decides to buy gifts for his family. After the persuasion of shopkeeper he bought a pair of trousers for himself but there is only the last pair on the shelves, and it's too long. Ismat takes his gifts home with a thought that long trousers can always be shortened. Eid arrives, and with it comes a shock and surprise.

The story tells a lot about culture, and family values through the festivities involved with it in a subtle and comic manner with the ultimate message of joy of giving.

This book is written for intermediate Gujarati students. It has a wide variety of vocabulary words, and is full of wonderful illustrations. For ages 4+
